Roxanne Little, Service Lead – The Promise
FCA Scotland are proud to support Care Experienced Week 2023. The voices and experiences of our young people have always been at the heart of what we do here in FCA Scotland, and has become even more of a focus over the last two years, as part of our pledge to #KeepThePromise in FCA Scotland.
As part of this, we have increased the ways in which our care experienced young people can communicate with us to ensure that their voices are heard and that they know they are being listened to.
FCA Scotland welcome the Who Cares Scotland theme of “Lifelong Rights” for this year’s Care Experienced Week in Scotland. By providing Continuing Care and Adult Placement arrangements, we encourage and support our care experienced young people to live with their fostering families into adulthood, and ensure that they are supported for as long as they need and are as prepared as they can be when the time comes for moving on, as well as being able to access the supports they are entitled to. We also encourage our young people who have moved on to stay in touch, enabling them to remain as part of FCA Scotland, continue to have their voices heard, and maintain those important relationships that they have built with carers and staff.
