Listening to foster carers, responding to your needs
Fostering is a journey, and we make sure you don’t take it alone. We’re there for you every step of the way, responding to your needs with support, training and all the resources you’d expect from a large and long-established foster care specialist. When you foster with FCA Scotland, it’s not just you and the young person in your home. Think of us as an extended team, there for you, 24/7, whenever you need us, whatever your question. All our expertise is available to help you. Here’s a very brief introduction to the key benefits of FCA Scotland.
A family-feel support network
With over two decades of fostering experience, FCA Scotland will provide you the confidence and stability of working with an experienced local team that will get to know you and your family.
Whatever you need us for, we’ll be there. From a dedicated social worker to educational support for foster children, this flexibility is unrivalled and really sets us apart. Because when you join us, you’re joining our family; and families look out for one another.
Excellent allowances and benefits
Our allowances recognise your hard work and commitment and help cover the costs of caring for children – including holidays, clothes and little treats along the way. Our highly competitive fostering allowance package also includes a free membership to FosterTalk, an organisation which offers support helplines and guidance as well as great member offers and deals.
Foster Carer
Appreciation Day
We know our foster carers do an incredible job looking after the children and young people in their care, and we want to show them just how much they’re appreciated. So every October we say a big thank to all of our foster carers by celebrating Foster Carer Appreciation Day. We organise a special local event for our foster carers and also take the time to recognise and acknowledge the role of birth children of foster carers who too play a vital role within the fostering family.
National foster carer forum
We value the contribution our foster carers make and we’re always here to listen, to help and to engage you in shaping the future of our service. That’s why we have a foster carer forum and a network of carer reps. Every three months, carer reps from across the UK come together at the National Carer Forum to share good practice, learn from one other and talk directly to our senior leadership team.
